Typically the lower the temperature rating on the sleeping bag the higher the cost. Because of this basic summer sleeping bags usually cost between $25 to $75. A quality 3-season sleeping bag usually costs between $50 to $150. And a high-end winter sleeping bag can cost from $150 to over $500.

1 – REDCAMP Ultra Lightweight Sleeping Bag
This warm weather sleeping bag by REDCAMP is a great choice if you’re looking for a lightweight and basic sleeping bag to camp with during the summer months.

If you are looking for a basic sleeping bag or working with a tight budget it’s hard to beat this sleeping bag by REDCAMP as it’s the cheapest sleeping bag on this list. While the price can vary on this sleeping bag from about $20 to almost $30 we typically found the price to be about $25 for this sleeping bag by REDCAMP.

- Temperature Range – This sleeping bag is rated for temperatures between 59 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit making it great for summer camping.
- Size – The sleeping bag measure 76 inches by 30 inches so there is plenty of room to move around inside the bag.
- Packed Size – Because this sleeping bag comes with a compression sack it packs down to a super small size of about 8 inches by 5 inches or not much bigger than a water bottle.
- Material – This sleeping bag is made from a breathable polyester material which is great for warmer weather and mild conditions.
- Shape – The sleeping bag has a basic rectangle shape allowing the most room for movement inside the bag as well as ventilation.
2 – Coleman Sun Ridge 40°F Warm Weather Sleeping Bag
Main Features and Things to Consider
- Temperature Range – This sleeping bag is rated for temperatures from 40 degrees to 70 degrees Fahrenheit making it great for summer. The nice thing about the temperature rating on this sleeping bag is that it is much lower than most summer sleeping bags allowing you to use the bag into spring and fall even when the temperatures at night start to drop a little more.
- Size – This sleeping bag is 75 inches by 33 inches and should accommodate campers up to 6 feet tall comfortably.
- Packed Size – The sleeping bag is pretty large when packed away as it does not come with a compression sack. Instead, to store this sleeping bag you simply roll the bag up and use the included cord to keep it rolled up. Due to the size of this sleeping bag, it is not ideal for backpacking or hiking as its just too bulky.
- Material – Made from 100% polyester including the sleeping bag fill wich offers excellent breathability as well as softness for sleeping.
- Shape – This sleeping bag has a basic rectangle shape which is most common for summer and warm weather sleeping bags due to there breathability and comfort.
3 – ECOOPRO Warm Weather Sleeping Bag
One of our favorite and most popular warm-weather sleeping bags is this sleeping bag by ECCOPRO. This summer style sleeping bag has just about everything you could want in a warm-weather bag including a nylon outer lining, large overall size, and a stuff sack to compress the sleeping bag when stored.
Price
The price of this sleeping bag falls in the middle of the price range for warm-weather summer sleeping bags at about $40.
While we did occasionally find the ECCOPRO slightly below and above this $40 price point depending on where you looked, for the most part, it was right around $40.

Main Features and Things to Consider
- Temperature Range – While this is one of our favorite summer sleeping bags, because of it’s limited temperature rating this sleeping bag should definitely only be used in summer as it is only rated for temperatures at or above 55 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Size – The size of this sleeping bag comes in at a whopping 83 inches long and 30 inches wide making this a great sleeping bag for taller campers that might struggle with more common sleeping bag sizes that are closer to 75 inches in length.
- Packed Size – Because this sleeping bag comes with a compression sack it can be packed down to a height of about 11 inches or about the same size as a thermos. So this sleeping bag is great if you’re a backpacker or hiker as it’s super lightweight and compact.
- Material – This sleeping bag uses a variety of materials throughout its construction including nylon for the outer lining to help make it waterproof, polyester for the inner lining for softness, and cotton for the fill to help regulate temperature and provide ample padding.
- Shape – This ECCOPRO sleeping bag comes in the standard rectangle shape which is great for movability as well as breathability while summer camping.
4 – Kelty Rambler 50 Degree Sleeping Bag
This sleeping bag by Kelty is a great choice for those looking for a bit of an upgrade from the basic or standard summer sleeping bag as it offers several unique features in the space including a semi-rectangular shape, comfort tuck zipper that allows you to place your feet outside the sleeping bag, as well as a variety of available color options.
Price
While this Kelty Rambler 50 sleeping bag is the most expensive summer sleeping bag on this list with an average retail price of around $55 it is still well within the normal price range for a summer sleeping bag.
As a side note if you are patient and not in a hurry we did occasionally find this sleeping bag on sale in the $40 price range.

- Temperature Rating – As the name implies this sleeping bag is rated for temperatures at or above 50 degrees Fahrenheit, however due to the semi-regular design its possible that you could push that 50 degree limit a little lower and still be comfortable at night.
- Size – This sleeping bag can accommodate campers up to 6 feet tall, however, due to this semi-rectangular design and tapered bottom some campers find this sleeping bag to be restrictive and tight for a summer sleeping bag.
- Packed Size – This summer sleeping bag packs down to a respectable 7 inches by 11 inches thanks to its compression stuff sack allowing you to comfortably use this sleeping bag for backpacking or hiking.
- Material – Uses mainly synthetic materials which is great for durability as well as breathability.
- Shape – The shape of this sleeping bag by Kelty is semi-rectangular as it is wider at the top and more narrow at the bottom.
5 – TETON Sports TrailHead Sleeping Bag
This Teton Sports TrailHead sleeping bag is great for campers looking for a quality 3 season sleeping bag but don’t want to spend a ton of money.
Even though this sleeping bag is the cheapest 3 season bag on this list, it still has a ton of great features to help make sure you get a good night’s sleep while camping including a roomy foot box, zipper draft tubes, and full mummy enclosure.

The price of this Teton Sports TrailHead 3 season sleeping bag is one of the cheapest 3 season bags we could find coming in at a price usually around $60.
So if you’re looking for a super economical 3 season sleeping bag then you should definitely check this one out by Teton.
Main Features and Things to Consider
- Temperature Rating – This sleeping bag has a temperature rating of 20 degrees Fahrenheit however keep in mind that this 20-degree rating is more of a survivability rating as opposed to a comfort rating. To get the lowest comfort rating you usually want to add 10 degrees Fahrenheit to whatever the manufacture states to have a more comfortable night’s sleep.
- Size – This Teton Sports sleeping bag is 75 inches by 30 inches so if you’re much taller than 6 foot you should choose a sleeping bag with a longer length.
- Packed Size – While this sleeping bag does come with a compression sack, which makes it easy to store the sleeping bag, with a packed size of 13 inches by 7 inches it is pretty large compared to other 3 season sleeping bags.
- Material – This sleeping bag is comprised mainly of synthetic materials making it both rugged and easy to clean while camping.
- Shape – The shape of this sleeping back is a mummy-style bag with a fully enclosed hood. The bag is slightly larger at the shoulders and gets smaller as you move towards the bottom of the bag.
6 – AEGISMAX Outdoor Ultra-Light Goose Down Sleeping Bag
This 3 season sleeping bag by AEGISMAX is a great choice if you like the warmth and comfort of goose down but don’t want to spend a ton of money. This bag has a down fill of 800 which provides plenty of warmth and loft for those cooler spring and autumn nights.

Typically down sleeping bags can cost well over $200 due to their natural down fill as it’s a more expensive material compared to synthetic materials. The great thing about this down-filled sleeping bag though is that it’s actually priced below $100.

- Temperature Rating – This sleeping bag makes a great bag if you plan on extending your camping season beyond just summer and plan to camp in both the spring as well as the fall. While this sleeping bag has a comfort temperature of 52 degrees Fahrenheit it can easily handle the cooler spring and fall nights with a lower limit temperature rating of 43 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Size – This sleeping bag is available in two different lengths including a regular version with a length of 70 inches meant for campers 5 foot 7 inches or under and a long version with a length of 75 inches meant for campers up 6 foot 3 inches.

- Shape – This sleeping bag has a mummy shape with a full hood enclosure which is common for both 3 season sleeping bags as well as winter sleeping bags as it helps to keep drafts out and retain body heat.
7 – Easthills Outdoors Bison 15 Degree F 650 Sleeping Bag
Another great option if you’re looking for a down-filled sleeping bag is this 3 season bag by Easthills Outdoors.
At the price of this sleeping bag, it’s really hard to go wrong because of all the high-end features you get including 650 fill duck down, low-temperature rating, 20D Ripstop Nylon, and ultra-lightweight and compact size.
Price
As is often the case the cheapest place we could find this sleeping bag was on Amazon however for this particular sleeping bag the Amazon price was substantially lower than other places that had it for sale.
For example, we found this sleeping bag on eBay priced at a whopping $205. And it wasn’t uncommon to find the bag priced elsewhere for around $160 but Amazon blew both of these prices out of the water.
So if you’re thinking about purchasing the Easthills Outdoors Bison then you should definitely purchase it on Amazon.
Main Points and Things to Consider
- Temperature Rating – This 3 season sleeping bag has one of the lowest temperature ratings of its class at 15 degrees Fahrenheit, making it perfect for even the coldest spring or fall camping nights.
- Size – At 87 inches long and 32 inches wide, this is one of the longest sleeping bags on this list which is great for campers over 6 feet tall. Even if you’re not tall though you might appreciate the larger size of this bag as some people find the mummy-style sleeping bag to be claustrophobic.
- Packed Size – Packed size is pretty good for the low-temperature rating of the sleeping bag thanks to its 650 down fill and compression sack packing down to 9 inches by 15 inches.
- Material – This down sleeping bag is made with 20D Ripstop Nylon and treated with a waterproof coating so you should stay nice and dry while camping.
- Shape – This sleeping bag has a mummy shape that tapers smaller as you move down the sleeping bag with a full hood with drawstring ensuring there is minimal heat loss throughout the night.
8 – Hyke & Byke Shavano 32 Degree F 650 Fill Sleeping Bag
The Hyke and Byke Shavano is a great sleeping bag for outdoor enthusiasts looking for an upgrade from the cheaper or lesser quality summer or even 3 season sleeping bags.
While Hyke and Byke makes several different versions of their sleeping bag rated for different temperatures, this 32 degree Fahrenheit version is one of our favorites because it does a great job of balancing price and features.

While on the more expensive side when it comes to 3 season sleeping bags it’s definitely well inside the common price range for quality 3 season sleeping bag with a retail price around $130.
Keep in mind though the price does vary some depending on which retailer you are shopping at as is the case for all the sleeping bags on this list.

- Temperature Rating – This 3 season sleeping bag is rated for temperatures at or above 32 degrees Fahrenheit so you should have no issues using this sleeping back through the spring, summer, and fall.
- Size – This sleeping bag by Hyke and Byke is available in three different sizes including short (72″ by 26″), regular (78″ by 28″), and long (87″ by 32″).
- Packed Size – With the compression sack and the 650 down fill this sleeping bag can be compressed to a size of 9 inches by 6 and a half inches making this sleeping bag one of the most compact sleeping bags on this list.
- Material – This sleeping bag is made from water repellent 400T 20D Ripstop Nylon making this sleeping bag great for rainy weather and rugged conditions.
- Shape – As is common with quality 3 season sleeping bags, this sleeping bag has a mummy shape with a full hood to help trap body heat while sleeping.
9 – SOULOUT Down Sleeping Bag
While you might not recognize the name brand of the sleeping bag, this SOULOUT sleeping bag is a great budget-friendly winter sleeping bag that has a temperature rating down to 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
Even though it has a cheaper price compared to most winter sleeping bags, it still has a ton of value and many great features including a goose-down fill, water-resistant exterior coating, a wide foot box, as well as interior baffles to prevent cold air from entering the bag.

As mentioned above this is a great economical and budget-friendly winter sleeping bag with an average retail price of around $150.
Because of this cheap price, it’s hard to go wrong with this sleeping bag, as the price of this winter bag is less than half of what some of the more expensive winter or 4 season sleeping bags cost.

- Temperature Rating – This sleeping bag is rated down to 0 degrees Fahrenheit but this sleeping bag is really better suited for temperatures either in the teens or 20s as the sleeping bag has a comfort rating of 10 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Size – The SOULOUT Down Sleeping Bag is only available in one size which is 87.7 inches long and 30 inches wide. But this size should really accommodate most campers as the manufacturer states that campers up to 6 foot 3 inches tall can comfortably sleep in the bag.
- Packed Size – At around 14 inches by 8 inches its not the smallest sleeping bag when packed into its compression sack but considering the price point it is more than inline.
- Material – This sleeping bag uses a 400T Ripstop Polyester which gets the job done however sleeping bags that use Ripstop Nylon tend to be more waterproof and hold up better over time.
- Shape – This is a mummy-style sleeping bag with a full hood that cinches down to help retain body heat.
10 – Hyke & Byke Eolus Goose Down Sleeping Bag
While you might not have heard of Hyke and Byke before they are one of the fastest-growing premier outdoor brands today. And it’s easy to see why after reviewing this Hyke and Byke Eolus Down Sleeping Bag which is rated for 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
From top to bottom this sleeping bag is packed with quality and well thought out design that should keep you comfortable and warm on even the coldest of nights while camping or mountaineering.

This sleeping bag is available at several different temperature ratings but this review is specifically referring to the 0 degrees version which is priced at a respectable average retail price of $200.
Considering the quality and high-end features of this sleeping bag, this bag is a bargain at $200, as more expensive winter sleeping bags with similar features can cost well over $500.

- Shape – This sleeping bag is a mummy-style bag that is widest at the shoulders and gradually tapers down to the shortest width at the foot box.
Big Agnes has been around a long time and is synonyms with big comfort and big quality. This particular sleeping bag is a prime example of that big comfort and big quality as the sleeping bag is rated to 0 degrees Fahrenheit to handle the coldest of nights while winter camping.
Price
Most Big Agnes sleeping bags fall within the $150 to $250 price range depending on what temperature rating you go with. As the lower the temperature rating, the more expensive the sleeping bag will be.
With this sleeping bag being rated at 0 degrees and at the bottom of the temperature rating range you can expect this sleeping bag to be on the higher side when it comes to price.
We usually found this sleeping bag priced around $225 depending on where you looked, with the exception of Amazon which had it quite a bit cheaper.

- Temperature Rating – As stated above this Big Agnes Lost Dog is available in several different temperature ratings including 0, 15, 30, and 45 degrees Fahrenheit. However, if you’re looking for a winter sleeping bag, it’s best to go with either the 0-degree or 15-degree version as these sleeping bags will be best suited for cold winter conditions.
- Size – Not only does the Big Agnes Lost Dog come in several different temperature ratings but it also is sold in two different sizes including a regular version that will fit campers as tall as 5 foot 7 inches and a long version which will fit campers up to 6 feet 6 inches.
- Packed Size – This sleeping bag packs down to a size of either 9 inches by 11.5 inches for the regular sized sleeping bag or 9 inches by 12.5 inches for the long version. Either way for a winter sleeping bag it packs down pretty small and only weighs 4 pounds 10 ounces.
- Material – This sleeping bag by Big Agnes is filled with 100% post-consumer polyester synthetic insulation which is great for both the environment as well as those with allergies. The outer liner on this bag is made with durable Ripstop Nylon and the inner liner is made from polyester fabric that is both soft and quiet to sleep on.
- Shape – The Big Agnes Lost Dog is a mummy-shaped bag with a full hood which is great for those cold winter nights. This sleeping bag also has a sleeping pad sleeve on the back of the bag that will accommodate most sleeping pads to help keep the pad in place at night.
12 -Sea to Summit Ascent Down Sleeping Bag
While the Sea to Summit Ascent Down Sleeping Bag is at the higher end of the price range for winter sleeping bags, if you’re into cold weather camping or mountaineering it can be worth the additional cost. As it has many high-end features such as verticle chest baffles, an oversized draft collar, zipper draft tubes, and a 750+ fill ultra-dry down insulation to keep you dry and warm on the coldest of winter nights.

While at the higher end of the price range for winter sleeping bags with an average retail price of $470, as the old saying goes you get what you pay for and this sleeping bag is no exception.
This sleeping bag will probably be overkill for your average weekend camper but if you’re someone who enjoys winter camping or mountaineering it might be worth the investment.
